William “Bill” R. Morrow, 55, of Rockford passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Bill was born in 1963, in Rockford, the son of William C. and Jacqueline M. (Wehrle) Morrow. Growing up, Bill enjoyed sports, photography, and taking fishing trips to Canada with his father. He graduated from Jefferson High School and enlisted in the army, completing his basic training and AIT at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for two years in Panama, where he had eye-opening experiences. Upon returning home, Bill attended Rock Valley College for electronics and accounting, and was employed at a manufacturing plant where he developed skills in the tool-and-die making trade. In 1988, Bill married a teacher named Cathy and they had three children. He loved the outdoors and had fond memories of family vacations to Wisconsin and Mexico. Bill was a trap shooter, and he also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bill took pride in cooking a variety of foods for his family, especially BBQ Ribs and Mexican dishes. Bill cared deeply for his family members, including their golden retriever, Grizzly. He was also a sports enthusiast, who was a devout fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Survivors include his children, Erika Morrow, Chad Morrow and Zach (daughter-in-law, Heidi Chung) Morrow; his loving father, William Morrow; grandmother, Wanda Wiemann; brother, David Morrow; sister, Penny Morrow; sister-in-law, Donna Morrow; nephew, Nik Morrow; and former wife, Cathy. Predeceased by his mother; and grandfather, William Morrow.
Service at 11 a.m. Sunday, February 18, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time.
