William "Bill" Mckeever

William “Bill” L. McKeever, 76, of Machesney Park passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019, in Illinois Veterans Home at LaSalle. Born March 31, 1943, in Loves Park, the son of Louis and Shirley (Gord) McKeever. Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1968 to 1969. Married Patsy A. (Rose) Scott on July 12, 2008, in Machesney Park. Owned and operated WLM & Associates and was formerly employed as vice president at North Towne Bank. Member of Riverside Community Church. Life member of VFW Post 9759 where he served as an honor guard. As a snowbird, he resided in Apache Junction, AZ, since 2008 and was a member of the American Legion Post 27. He enjoyed restoring his father’s 1967 Thunderbird. Bill’s nickname was “paper boy”. He loved ice cream and anything with caramel. Survivors include his wife, Patsy; children, Scott (Jennifer) McKeever of Hagerstown, MD, and Michelle Anspaugh of Rockford; stepchildren, Penny (John) Combs and Jeff (Michelle) Scott; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Isabella, Adriana, Craig (Sarah), Scott (Jorie), Jenna (Jake), Emily and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Arabella and Maddox; foster daughters, Carla (Matt) Schiele, Lola Engelkes; sister, Gail McKeever-Scadden. Predeceased by his first wife, Diane (Grossen).

Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, in Riverside Community Church, 6816 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park. Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park and from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday in the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
