William Clifton Leonard

William Clifton Leonard, 86, of Rockford, IL, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, in his home. Born November 7, 1936, in Rockford, the son of Ralph William and Marjorie Marie (Stout) Leonard. Married Marylou Sisley on October 6, 1956. William was a pilot who enjoyed flying and taking photos from the air. He supported the EAA. William loved the Oshkosh fly in and attended when it was in the Rockford area. He enjoyed working on motorcycles and cars. William enjoyed fishing, canoeing, camping, square dancing, and most of all he loved his family. Survivors include his wife, Marylou Leonard; children, William B. (Sandra) Leonard, Mark S. Leonard, Thomas M. Leonard, and Tina (Mike) Tucker; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Mike) Harris; and brothers, Benjamin Leonard, and James Leonard. Predeceased by his parents; son, Timothy A. Leonard; and daughter-in-law, Linda Leonard.

Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
