William “Bill” C. Lee, 69, of Machesney Park entered into eternal rest Monday, February 27, 2017. Born August 6, 1947, in Rockford, the son of Charles W. and Edna L. (Grass) Lee. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1965. Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. Married Kathleen Taylor on July 21, 1974, in Caledonia. Formerly employed by Lee’s Furniture in Loves Park and retired from Wonder Bread in 2007 after 31 years. Member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church and Rockford Shriners. Bill loved woodworking and golfing. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Lee of Machesney Park; sons, Brian (Carrie) Lee of Loves Park and Brad (Jenni) Lee of Grand Rapids, Michigan; grandchildren, Audrey, Amelia, Ava, Isaac and Elinore; sister, Nancy Cooling of Rockford; brother-in-law, Tom (Barb) Taylor; father-in-law, Gene Taylor; nephews, Michael (Nora) Cooling, Patrick (Diane) Cooling and Justin (Alyssa) Taylor; and niece, Kelsey (Jason) Liesen. Predeceased by his parents; and mother-in-law, Marilyn Taylor. The family wishes to thank the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department for their help and support over the years.
Service at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Inurnment in Harlem Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
