William “Bill” J. Cason, 90, of Rockford passed away peacefully Saturday, May 7, 2016. Born May 20, 1925, in Rockford, the son of Dominic and Catherine (Sandona) Cason. Graduated from St. Thomas High School and Marquette University. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Married Margaret “Mickey” Delahanty on August 27, 1949, in Rockford. Employed by American States Insurance, retiring in 1990. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Bill was an avid golfer with three holes-in-one with a four handicap. He was a volunteer at St. Anne’s for many years. Survivors include his wife, Mickey; children, Michael (Jane Dretzka) Cason, Mary (Ronald) Cason-Fairchild, Therese (Richard) Casey and James (Cyndi) Cason; grandchildren, David, Laura, Karen and Sarah, and their mother, Maureen Cason, Aaron and Abigail, Matthew (Stacey) Leighty, Andrew (Erin) Leighty, Kelly (Chris) Smith, Jenna Fairchild, Jack Cason and Kate Cason; great-grandson, Tyler Leighty; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother, John Cason. The family wishes to thank the staff at Provena St. Anne Center.
 
 Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Private inurnment. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with Rosary recited at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
