Wendell Johnson

ROCKFORD - Wendell K. “Swede” Johnson, 62, of Rockford passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. Born Oct. 28, 1952, in Rockford, son of Frank and Beatrice E. (Larson) Littell. Graduated from West High School. Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy. Employed by YRC for 28 years, retiring in 2014. Proud member of Teamsters Local 710. His passion was traveling, including trips to Africa and Scandinavian Countries. Survivors include brothers, Kendall (Joan) Johnson and James (Sharon) Littell; special friend, Barbara Schafer; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and trucking sidekick, Dave Deyarmin. Predeceased by parents. The family wishes to thank all of Wendell’s caregivers.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Northern Illinois Hospice.
