Wayne R. Scott, 89, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Born August 8, 1926, in Rockton, the son of Porter D. and Belle (Taylor) Scott. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the south pacific earning the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and was given the Ruptured Duck Honorable Service Pin. Married Delores “Dee” R. Miller on August 4, 1951, in Maple Park. Formerly owned and operated Scott Oil and Scott Enterprises. Former member of Forest Hills Country Club and Elks Club. Member of Tebala Shrine and Freeport Consistory for over 50 years. Also a Mason for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Dee; nieces and nephews, Morris (Debbie) Scott, Scott (Karen) Hulick, Sherry (Frank) Servin and Dale (Susan) July; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Bob Phillips; sister-in-law, Nona Miller; several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers, Warren and Howard; sisters, Dorothy Hulick and Ruth July.
