Wayne A. Lindquist, 85, of Machesney Park, IL, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Born January 3, 1938, in Rockford, IL, the son of Walter and Lucille (Woodrick) Lindquist. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1956. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Wanda Bachman on February 22, 1957, in Rockford. Employed by ComEd for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Member of City First Church where he was a teacher with Awana and Sonlight Ministries. Wayne enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing. He coached Little League Baseball and was an avid Baltimore Colts fan. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; children, Teresa (Steve) Swick of Milton, WI, Tammy (Troy) Yard of Willis, TX, and Patrick Lindquist of Janesville, WI; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; and brother, Scott Lindquist.
Service at 3 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at City First Church, 5950 Spring Creek Road, Rockford, with visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. in the church. Graveside service at 1 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024, in Scottish Argyle Cemetery, Caledonia, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
