Victor Dean Jochims, 83, of Machesney Park passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020, in Swedish American Hospital. Born March 26, 1936, in Tama, Iowa, the son of John “Ted” Theodore and Jessie Marie (Reavis) Jochims. Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. Married Mary Carol Anderson on January 5, 1963, in Dixon. Retired from Thermo Form Tooling Tech. Victor loved sports, playing golf, the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, gardening and fishing. He was a Christian man who lived a simple life and loved his family. Victor was hard working, very gentle, sweet and a thoughtful man. He loved his grandchildren, Western movies, War movies and the weather. Victor was a devoted husband and father who passed on his love of the outdoors. Survivors include his children, Doug (Linda Guadarrama) Jochims, Jan (Jeremy) Raab and Lori (Ken) Brande; grandchildren, John (JT) Griffin, III, Allison (Daniel) Schultz, Jacob (Shell) Jochims, Nicolas Rydeberg, Riely (Madison) Brande and Dawson Brande; great-grandchildren, Sylas, Kloii, Violet, Nolan, Kate and Elle; sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Anderson and Lucy Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Beverly Fletcher and the Fletcher family. Predeceased by his wife, Mary Carol Jochims; brothers, Don and Gordon; and sisters, Delores and Willena. Special thanks to Bev and the Fletcher family.
Service at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020, in Riverside Community Church, 6816 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park, with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
