Vera I. (Clinkenbeard) Kluver, 87, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Manor Court of Freeport, IL.
Born on November 8, 1937, in Albia, IA, the daughter of Chester “Chet” and Dorothy (Cavanaugh) Clinkenbeard.
Vera attended Rockford West High School and went on to Beauty School of Cosmetology. She later worked at Edie Adams Cut and Curl.
She met and married Simon “Sam” H. KIuver and they were married for 69 years.
Later she worked at Arachnid Manufacturing where she retired. Vera enjoyed camping with Sam, going to garage sales and traveling. But most of all she enjoyed the time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Colleen) Kluver of Flower Mound, TX, and Richard (Penny) Kluver of Three Lakes, WI; daughter, Cheryl (Curt Lamm) Morgan of Freeport, IL; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Simon “Sam” Kluver; parents, Chet and Dorothy Clinkenbeard; sister, Ann Kuehne; and brother, Leo Clinkenbeard.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with inurnment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.
