Troy Hargraves

March 28, 1968 — May 22, 2021

Troy “Troy Boy” Hargraves, 53, of Rib Lake, Wisconsin, was called to his heavenly home Saturday, May 22, 2021, in University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison.  He was born March 28, 1968, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois, to Forest E. and Leeanna L. (Peterson) Hargraves, Jr.

Troy grew up on Illinois Street in Loves Park and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.  At fifteen, he started working at Jubilee Foods where he trained in meat cutting.  After graduating from Harlem High School in 1986, he worked for Penguin Foods in Rockford.  When Cub Foods opened their Loves Park location, he continued his career and craft as a meat cutter.  Troy married and remained in Loves Park raising his two children, Savanna and Jacob.  Later Troy transferred to Cub Foods in South Beloit where he was manager of the meat department.

At 37 years, Troy suffered a devastating stroke.  Shortly after the stroke he moved to Rib Lake, WI, to be close to his cousins and the great outdoors that he loved.  He was able to hunt, fish, snowmobile, garden, remodeling, play poker, darts and entertain his brothers, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Savanna (Brandon) Hargraves; son, Jacob (Kaitlynn) Hargraves; grandchildren, Owen, Ethan, Emma, Connor, Ivan and Leo; parents, Forest and Leeanna Hargraves; brothers, Chad (Peggy), Jason (Christy), Brent, Steven (Tina) Hargraves; grandmother, Dorothy Hargraves; numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his grandparents, Forest Hargraves, Sr. and Dean (Pearl) Peterson; uncle, Ray Hargraves; and aunt, Connie Lynch.  Special thanks to the staff at University of Wisconsin Hospital, his Rib Lake and Loves Park Family.
