Thomas "Tom" L. Trefftzs

Thomas "Tom" L. Trefftzs, 83, of Rockford passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Grand Regency. Born May 7, 1939, in Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Thomas Franklin and Mabel Irene (Wright) Trefftzs. Attended East High School. In his late 50’s, Tom attended Blackhawk Tech, earning a degree in drafting engineering. Married Barbara Kay King on October 24, 1959, in Rockford, IL. Employed as a third-generation union carpenter. Member of Carpenters Union. Lived in the Rockford area for many years, coming here from Pinckneyville. He enjoyed gardening, baseball, golf, bowling, and telling tales of his 58 Pontiac and 62 Ford. Tom loved his family, watching Westerns, his little dog, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Jerry (Suzanne) Trefftzs, Douglas (Darlene) Trefftzs, and Richard Trefftzs; daughters, Connie (Gregory) Grenawalt and Leanne (Andrά) McDonald; grandchildren, Thomas (Katie) Trefftzs, Aaron (Kristi) Trefftzs, Magnolia (fiancé, Dane Coplien) Grenawalt, Daniel Trefftzs, Precious McDonald, and Blu McDonald; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Logan, Kaidyn, Brantley, Parker, Ronen, October, and Olivia; sisters, Vera Howard, and Alberta (Richard) Butterfield. Predeceased by his parents; and brother-in-law, Donald Howard.

Service at noon Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery.
