Thomas J. Nelson, 71, of Machesney Park passed away with his wife and brother-in-law by his side, Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Born October 24, 1948, in Rockford. Graduated from East High School, Class of 1968. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Married Janet Bretzinger on February 5, 1972, in Rockton. Member of the LLL Club. Tom enjoyed a cold Coors Light with family and friends. Avid Chicago Bear and Cub fan. Survivors include his wife, Janet; brother, Jack (Connie) nelson; two sisters, Peggy Lineman and Joan Niehaus; brother-in-laws, Randy (Brenda) Bretzinger and Wayne (Frieda) Bretzinger; numerous nieces and nephews; loving companion, Heidi. Predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard Nelson.
