Tamara "Tami" Washington

Tamara “Tami” Sue Washington, 58, of Machesney Park passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, after a long illness.  Born September 5, 1963, in Rockford, the daughter of Jerry and Susan (Haller) Smith.  Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1981.  Married Angelo Washington on August 22, 1998, in Loves Park.  Employed by the Rockford Park District.  Tammy was an above average bowler, competing in many tournaments and scratch leagues.  Avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.  She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners every year.  Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Angelo; parents, Jerry and Susan Smith; children, Angelo (Amy) Washington, Seneca Washington, Shawn Washington, Dustin Smith, Darrel (Sharon) Malone, Nicole Malone, Chelsea Washington, and Tyler Washington; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Dan Smith; niece, Brianna Smith.  Special thanks to cousin, Nikki Collins for her loving care and support.

Celebration of Life and Service at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Park Lanes, 5318 North 2nd Street, Loves Park.  Cremation rites accorded.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
