Susan “Sue” Kay Knecht, 70, of Machesney Park, IL, was called home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Ascension Saint Anne Place, Rockford, IL, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 9, 1955, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Robert and Wilma (Gibson) Knecht. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1973. Formerly employed as a CNA at River Bluff Nursing Home and later at Willows on Main, and then for Modern Metal. Sue loved spending time with family, listening to music, watching the Chicago Bears and was a lover of all animals. Survivors include her daughter, Dalayna (Dave) Corey; grandchildren, Brian, Jaye, and Joshua; sister, Linda Knight; brothers, Mike Knecht and Mark Knecht; niece, Anita Knight; and nephew, Jake Knecht. Predeceased by her parents; nephew, Jeremy Knight; and sister-in-law, Jackie Knecht. The family wishes to thank Shawnte for all of her love and care.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded.
