Steven “SteveO” J. Richards, 62, of South Beloit, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, after a sudden illness. Born October 7, 1961, in Rockford, IL, the son of Ed and Donna (Rubendall) Richards. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1979. Most recently employed by Arco Machinery Movers for more than 20 years and previously owned and operated his own painting business. Steve enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. Avid Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his daughter, Josey (Chester Moberg) Richards; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Tyra, Jaylynn, and Antonio; great-grandson, Roman on the way; mother, Donna Richards; sister, Cathy (Tod) Grabow; fiancé, Sherri Merrimon; nieces, Jen (Jamie Renk) Thompson, Melissa (Ken Rockwell) Peterson, and Brandy (Tom) Berg; great-nephews, Dylan, Kaiden, Alex, Brayden, and Bryce; and fur-baby, Bean. Predeceased by his father; and brother, D.A. Richards.

Service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his grandchildren.
