Steven Hubert Pash, 73, of Loves Park, IL, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, in his home. Born July 28, 1950, in Freeport, IL, the son of Hubert and Betty Pauline (Steffens) Pash, Jr. Married Deborah “Debbie” Watson in Rockford, IL. Formerly employed by Sundstrand, Ingersoll, and Toyoda Machinery. He retired in June 2023 from the Loves Park Fire Department as Chief of Administration after 48 years of dedicated service. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Amateur Radio Club KB9YX, and Verdi Club in Rockford. Steven was a very proud PaPa who thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren, Ethan, and Brennan, thrive on the baseball and football fields. PaPa was always at their bowling tournaments to root them on to success. Steven is proud PaPa of Sophie who has thrived and excelled in school, choir, and plays. PaPa enjoyed watching her grow in learning the trumpet. Steven loved to travel and was able to see and experience much in his job as a Senior Proposal Engineer. He also loved to travel with his wife. Steven enjoyed going up north to the cabin with family and friends, where they all enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and riding ATV’s. Steven enjoyed going to NASCAR events with his family and friends. He was active in golfing and bowling. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Debbie; son, David (Patrice) Pash of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Kimberly (Robert) Gorney of Rockford; grandchildren, Ethan Pash and Brennan Pash, both of Texarkana, and Sophie Gorney of Rockford; sisters-in-law, Pamela (Daryl) Brauer, Sherry (Kenny) Triplett, and Dawn (Tony) Harrington; foster brother, Steven Parrish; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents; grandson, Jackson Gorney; and foster brother, Randy Reedy.
Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 343 Grand Avenue, Loves Park, with visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a memorial to be established.
