Stella Day

Stella Marie Day, 86, of Machesney Park passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, in her home.  Born August 19, 1934, in Hardy, Nebraska, the daughter of Vernon and Martha (Newell) Day.  She attended some college classes working on becoming a teacher.  Married Harold L. Day on January 2, 1954, in Hardy.  Employed in the office and bakery department at Cub Foods and Tupperware for 19 years.  Active member at Christ Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with her grandchildren.  Survivors include her son, Kevin Day; daughter, Sheila (Darrel) Carter; grandchildren, Chris (Heidi) Day, Rory Carter, and Nick (Tressa) Carter; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Aliyah, and Scarlett; step-great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents; husband; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Service at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, in Christ Lutheran Church, 425 Riverside Blvd., Belvidere.  Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Walk through visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
