Sophie A. Scott, age 91, of Loves Park, passed on to meet the Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Born on December 7th, 1924, in Strickland, Wisconsin, to Anton and Petranelia Romanowski. Sophie was the youngest of 17 children. Sophie went to high school in Weyerhauser, Wisconsin, and attended the Eau Claire State Teachers’ College for 2 years. Sophie was an elementary school teacher for 47 years. Her first teaching job was at the age of 19 in Chetek, Wisconsin, in a one room schoolhouse with children grades one through eight. She retired from the Harlem School district. Education was her absolute passion throughout her whole life. Sophie married Robert M. Scott on August 21st, 1946, in Stickland, Wisconsin, and moved to Rockford in 1947. Sophie loved life, spending time with her family, polka dancing, and playing cards. Survivors include children, Roberta (Ed) Corin of Nashville, Randy (Jodi) Scott of Roscoe, Rita (Scott) Butterfield of Loves Park, and Rex (Robynn) Scott of Loves Park. Grandchildren, Chandra, Michael (Tosha), Caden, Robert (Megan), Barrett, Bradley (Mary Kate), Bailey (David), Reena (Kevin), and Raykell. Great-grandchildren, Olivia, Zoe, and Ethan. Sophie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert of 32 years, and grandson, Ryan Scott.
 
 A celebration of Sophie’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 10th, 2016, at the Delehanty Funeral Home in Loves Park, with visitation at 2:00 p.m. Service and burial will be held Saturday, April 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Lake View Cemetery in Chetek, Wisconsin.
