Sherry L. Taylor, 67, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born November 18, 1957, in Rockford, the daughter of Dale and Yvonne (Eskridge) Axelson. She married Ronald “Ron” E. Taylor on July 25, 1981, in Rockford. Employed by the Rockford Public School District 205 as a paraprofessional for 19 years. Member of Zion Lutheran Church. Sherry was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and sister, who loved her family very much. Survivors include her husband, Ron; son, Brent (Amanda Kenly) Taylor; brothers, Wendell (Sue) Shumate, Earl (Gabriele) Axelson, and Dale (Tina) Axelson; and sisters, Darla (Tom) Hamilton and Lynn (Dave) Nygren; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents. Special thanks to OSF Hospice, her caregivers, and to Janet and Harold Hackworth for everyone’s love, care, and support.

Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, 925 5th Avenue, Rockford. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park, Rockford. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
