Scott E. Sterkeson, 46, of Escondido, CA, passed away March 12, 2018, as a result of a motorcycle accident in California. Born December 13, 1971, in Rockford, IL, son of John Sterkeson of Rockford and Barbara Zeigler of Texas. Employed many years by Wal-Mart, most recently at the San Marcos, CA, store. Scott was an avid semi-professional photographer. His photos were a product of his inherently sensitive, artistic nature. Scott loved GOD and all creation and could capture beauty through the lens. His radiant smile, sense of humor and gentle disposition will be missed by all who knew him. This selfless organ donor benefited many others through his generous gifts. Huge Cubs, Bulls and Bears fan. Survivors include his father John (Mary Lou) Sterkeson; mother, Barb; his children, Andrew, Ashley, Julie, Faith, Josh and Tyler; grandchildren, Elias and Andreayah; brothers, Craig, Keith and Brian; stepbrothers, Erik and Brian Nelson; sister, Victoria Rotello; special friend and love of his life, Cindy Miller-Tremaine of Escondido. Predeceased by brother, Dan (Nov. 2017).
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, in United Lutheran Church, 3630 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. The Reverend Julane Nease will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Local arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
