Scott Carlson

Scott S. Carlson, 58, of Loves Park passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, in his home. Born September 7, 1959, in Rockford, the son of P. Stephen “Steve” and Diane L. (Holm) Carlson.  Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1977.  Attended Rock Valley College.  Was a lifelong musician.  Played in the band Puppet in the Rockford area for several years and continued his music career playing throughout the U.S. as John Lennon in Meet the Beetles.  He married Zoe Mealer.  Attended Grace Lutheran Church.  Scott loved his family and many friends.  He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.  Scott was awaiting a pancreas / kidney transplant.  Survivors include his wife, Zoe; sons, Stephan and Jordan Carlson; daughter, Megan Carlson; grandchildren, Alayna and Noah; mother, Diane; brother, Michael (Charlene) Carlson; and stepdaughter, Cathryn Ramey.  Predeceased by his father, Steve.

Service at noon Monday, January 15, in Grace Lutheran Church, 343 Grand Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Juvenile Research Diabetes Foundation.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
