Sandra Lindvall

February 8, 1951 — September 20, 2025

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Cagle-Lindvall, 74, of Rockton, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in her home.  She was born on February 8, 1951, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Hugo and Beverly (Groom) Speaker.  Sandy graduated from Muldoon High School, Class of 1969, where she made lifelong friends.  She married Tom Cagle in September 1969, and they had two children, Tanya and Troy.  Sandy started in banking in the early 1970s.  She continued her career in banking and as a credit collector working for ABC Supply Co. and Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc., retiring in 2016.  Past president and judge at the Young at Heart Festival and pageants.  She later married William W. Lindvall of February 13, 1988.  They were together for 28 years until his passing in June of 2016.

In February of 1995 she became a Nana and has been referred to as such by almost everyone since then.  Nana had four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, all of whom she adored tremendously.  Nana was the “go to” lady when you needed a shoulder to cry on or just a shopping buddy.  She was always there to listen but never judge.  Sandy or Nana if you will had a knack for creating beautiful wreaths and centerpieces.  Making many for her loved ones.

Sometimes you could find Nana sitting in her chair eating Bit O’Honey candy that she kept stashed in her magazine basket next to her chair.  Nana enjoyed getting takeout food with Garrett or making a meal for him so she could sit at the table with him and talk about their days.  She loved Sunday facetimes with Garrett, Carrigan, Morgan, Phoenix, and Journey.  Nana was extremely proud of Chloe having graduated from college this year.  She enjoyed helping Carrigan with wedding plans, even making many of the floral arrangements.

She was never one to miss a get-together with her Muldoon peeps or her friends from Aqua unless she was feeling under the weather.  Reunions and Christmas parties always gave her the opportunity to buy a fancy new dress.  She would then go get her hair done by Leslie, a lady she often thought of as family.  Nana was a one of a kind, a dear friend to many.  She had a heart of gold, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  Nana, say hello to Papa and give him hugs from us all.

Survivors include her daughter, Tanya (Mitchell Roth) Blum; son, Troy (Jennifer) Cagle; grandchildren, Garrett Blum, Carrigan (Efrain) Mendiola, Morgan (Austin Moll) Blum, and Chloe Cagle; great-granddaughters, Phoenix and Journey Moll; sisters, Deborah Hinricks, and Peggy (Greg) Goltz; nieces and nephews, Heidi, Alyssa, Kristina, and Victor; dearest friend, Mary Charlene; many friends from high school and Aqua Aerobics; and her buddy, Mishka.  Predeceased by her parents; husband; sister, Sharon; and her in-laws.  The family would like to thank Garrett and Rischel for their awesome care during her final days.
