BEST WIFE, MOTHER, SISTER AND FRIEND
ROCKFORD - Sandra “Sandi” L. Johnson, 57, of Rockford, after a courageous battle with cancer, went to be with the Lord Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born Aug. 11, 1957, in Rockford, daughter of Robert and Melva (Black) Ford. Married Gary Johnson on May 17, 1986. Owned and operated Asylum & Inferno Workout Centers. Member of Riverside Community Church. Active with the Harlem School Board for many years, where she served as president. Survivors include husband, Gary; sons, Jake (Tasha) Johnson and Jordan Johnson; grandchildren, Sophia, Jordon and Giovanni; sister, Sue (Chuck) Ellis; brother, Bob (Debbie) Ford; numerous nieces and nephews; special pet and best friend, Spanky. Predeceased by her parents; and two brothers.
Memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in Riverside Community Church, 6816 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park, with visitation from 2 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
