Sandra “Sandi” J. Hanson, 87, of Loves Park, IL, was called home to her Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Born March 13, 1938, in Princeton, IL, the daughter of Frank Dean and Vivian (Rieker) Jones. She married John Hanson, Sr., in May of 1981. Employed by Rock Island Arsenal for 30 years, retiring in 1993. Member of Stonebridge Church where she taught Bible Study. Sandi enjoyed reading, baking and watching Hallmark movies. Survivors include her two sons, Brad (Janet) Cary, of Rockford, IL, and Bryan (Laury) Cary, of Honolulu, HI; three stepchildren, Shawn (Joel) Morgan, Diane (Bill) Kohlhaas, and John Hanson, Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Lindblade and Cyndi Phillips; one brother, Earl (Julie) Jones; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, John Hanson, Sr.; one son, Bart Cary; and stepdaughter, Ann (Tom) Wilcox.
Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Stonebridge Church, 5183 Pebble Creek Trail, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her name.
