Samuel Duane Gagliano, 72, of Rockford passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020. Born July 4, 1948, in Beloit, WI, the son of Samuel J. and Ruth (Stellings) Gagliano. Graduated Boylan High School, Class of 1967. Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Steinaker. Employed by Chrysler, The Barn, Charles Joseph Traffic Services and at the Exelon Nuclear Power Plant. Member of Laborers Local 32. Avid Denver Broncos fan. He enjoyed attending car shows, fishing, and spending time with beloved family and friends. Duane held a special place in the hearts of many people and will be dearly missed. Survivors include two brothers, Doug (Noddy) of Kissimmee, FL and Darl (Roxanne) of Parker, CO; two sisters, Margo (Richard) Urbanski of Ft. Worth, TX and Mechelle (Trent) Clark of Machesney Park; nieces and nephews, Chad Fink, Joseph (Amy) Vahle, Anna (Richard) Creer, Michael (Ame Wongza) Urbanski, Nicholas (Liz) Urbanski, David Gagliano, Nicole (Karl) Bierman; special friends, Thomas and Paulette Lenz and their children, Tommy and Angela; Scott (Lauren) Gordon, Ron Anderson and Carol Strickland. Predeceased by parents; brother, Samuel Dean Gagliano.
Service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 13, in the funeral home. Face masks and social distancing is required. Memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project.
