Ryan Allen

August 30, 1988 — September 15, 2024

Ryan Lee Allen, known affectionately as “Ryno”, 36, of Rockford, IL, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 15, 2024.  Born August 30, 1988, the son of Ronald James Allen and pre-deceased by his mother, Darlene (Moriarity) Allen in 2001.  Raised by his stepmom, Me Shell (Dixon) Allen since the age of 4 years old.  He was on the wrestling and football team for Harlem and graduated in 2006.  Ryan was a poet and had a passion for all things fantasy.  He loved stories and lor and had a heart that thrived on adventure.  He had many beloved dogs whom he loved like family.  Ryan was always the brightest star in any room and has touched all of our souls.  He was an amazing father and his love for his children and fiancé was unwavering.  He was an avid fiction reader, loved snowboarding, football; especially the Dallas Cowboys, music festivals, Magic the Gathering, Star Wars, Dragon Ball Z, and traveling, especially to his grandpa Pete’s cabins in Hayward, WI.  He hated Leprechauns and vegetables.

Ryan worked at Muller-Pinehurst for almost 10 years.  He was such a fun-loving dad to his three small boys, Lucas (3), Dorian (2), and Bane (6 months), and a loving fiancé to the love of his life, Fran.

Ryan was always the person to be there for everyone else.  He was always the one to be there to pull you out of a dark place because he knew what it felt like to know real pain.  His love was unconditional, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.  He will forever be his family’s angel in the sky, along with everyone he’s finally been reunited with.

Survived by his dad, Ronald Allen; stepmom, Me Shell (Dixon) Allen; fiancé, Francesca Taft; sons, Lucas, Dorian, and Bane; sister, Jessica (Jason) Hughes; niece, Rylie; nephew, Finley; uncles and aunts, Dan and Jan Allen, Jim and Karen Allen, Peter Allen and Kellie Dunnagan, Casey, Shaunna, Patrick, and Jim Moriarity; many beloved cousins; future mother-in-law, Tammy, whom he adored; an army of friends; and longtime, best friend, Nick Cassaro.

Predeceased by his mother, Darlene (Moriarity) Allen; both his brothers, Lucas Allen, and Michael Moriarity; mother’s twin sister, Denise Moriarity; paternal grandparents, Karen and Albert “Pete” Allen; and
