Ruth Mcgough

Ruth E. McGough, 77, of Rockford passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Born April 7, 1939, in Richland County, WI, the daughter of James F. and Florence I. (Privett) Hardy. Married David H. McGough on August 26, 1972, in Rockford. Ruth loved spending time with family. She enjoyed camping, traveling and quilting. Survivors include daughter, Stephanie Smeltzer of Colorado; son, Darryl McGough of Roscoe; grandchildren, Dominic Dickey, Desiree (Ryan) Hollingsworth, Bonnie Mason, Cassie, Brianna Smeltzer and Jackson McGough; sister, Evelyn Morgan; brother, James D. Hardy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband; sisters, Dorothy Wood and Iva Olson; and brother, Wayne F. Hardy. The family wishes to thank Northern Illinois Hospice for their care and support.

Service at 11 a.m. Monday, August 22, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Basswood (WI) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
