Rozelle Carroll, 82, of Loves Park was called home Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Born July 10, 1938, in Seward, the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Stotler) Winterland. Attended Hononegah High School. Married James William Carroll on June 1, 1956, in Rockton. Employed by Rock Valley Nursing Program for many years, retiring in 2002. Formerly owned and operated Rozelle’s Beauty Salon for more than 20 years. Member of Old Stone Church, Rockton Jaycettes, and Stateline Toy Collectors Club. Past president of American Business Women’s Association and was woman of the year in 1998. She loved spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rozelle enjoyed painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, gardening, and bird watching. She was an avid Facebooker. Survivors include her children, Nancy (John Rygh) Moate, Arthur Carroll, Bryan (Kerri) Carroll and Diantha (John) Gilbert; grandchildren, Onica (David Trevino) Moate, Arisa (Andrew) Midgett, Holly (John) Gessner, Stephanie (Mark Wilder) Carroll, Thomas Carroll, Louis (Kayla) Gilbert, Emily Gilbert, and Sean Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Brayden Carroll, Xander Midgett, Isaiah Carroll, Brooklyn Gessner, Axton Midgett, Riley Gessner, Mayella Carroll, Max Midgett, Crystal Trevino, and Brianna Trevino; sister, Lila Wydick and Violet Pharo of California; brother, Richard (Pam) Winterland; sister-in-law, Jeannie Winterland; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband; granddaughter, Ellen Rose Gilbert; brothers, Kenneth Winterland, Arthur Winterland and Paul Winterland; brothers-in-law, Joseph Wydick and Terry Pharo. The family wishes to thank Rockton and Loves Park Police and Fire Departments, OSF Home Care Nurses and staff, and her personal caretakers, Kayla, Courtney, Micky, Janine, Danielle, and Hailey.
Private family services will be held. Public walk through visitation from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with social distancing and face coverings required. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
