Roy Albert Noble, Sr., 82, of Durand passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in his home, with his loved ones by his side. Born March 14, 1939, in Rockford, the son of Leonard C. and Ella V. (Fischer) Noble. Married Darlene Hilton on May 24, 1971, in Rockford. Employed by Elco Industry for 28 years, retiring in 2000. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Cubs, and WWE. He also enjoyed listening to the music from “The Porter Wagoner Show”, “Penny Gilley”, and “Midwest Country”. Survivors include his children, John Steinhoff, Roy Noble, Jr., and Thomas (Crystal) Noble; grandchildren, Teresa Smith, David (Jennifer) Bauer, Christina Carney, Bobby Gardner, CPL Kyle Noble, USMC, and Trinity Noble; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Noel, Theodore Robert “RJ” Jr., Kadence, Camden, Logan, Gracelynn, Bradley, Devin, Mavryck, Colton, Bryce, and Alexa; sisters, Vera Hammer and Frannie Morrison; brother, Harold Noble. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Darlene; daughter, Virginia Gardner; sisters, Elizabeth Swanson, Marjorie Jones, Dorothy Voss and Florence Crawford; brother, Donald Meehan.
Graveside service at 2 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2021, in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street, Rockford. Visitation from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital that Roy faithfully supported monthly.
