Rosella “Rose” M. Turner, 73, of Freeport passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born January 23, 1946, in Rector, AR, the daughter of James "Jack" and Elsie (Morris) Parks. Married Robert E. Turner in May of 1979, in Rockford. Dedicated to nursing for over 40 years. Rose most recently worked at Alpine Fireside, but also worked at the Winnebago County Jail, Crusader Clinic and Rosecrance throughout the years. Member of Calvary Baptist Church. Rose loved reading, cooking, and collecting ink pens, floral pattern dishes, books, jewelry and anything sparkly. Survivors include husband, Robert; children, Kimberly (Joseph) Holbert, Kelly (Lyle) Jurmu, Craig (fiancée, Laura Jones) Olson, Robert Turner, Jr., Mary (fiancé, Andy Roberts) Baranski and Dylan Turner; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Judy) Parks; sister, Kay (Steve) Ruggles; sister-in-law, Joyce Parks-Henze; “framily”, Raymond (Becky) Sawyer, Teresa (John) Olson and Fran Johnson. Predeceased by parents; son, Billy Joe Turner; and brothers, James Parks and Bill (Marilyn) Parks. Special thanks to the ICU nurses at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, the nurses at the Neuro ICU at OSF St. Anthony Rockford, the staff at Rush Hospital in Chicago, and the staff at DaVita Dialysis in Freeport.
Service at noon Saturday, July 27, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
