Rosa (Mae) Lopata, 101, of Machesney Park, IL, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 30, 2024, in her home. Born May 11, 1923, in Ukraine. She married Jan Lopata on June 24, 1948, in Germany. Employed by Top Hat Restaurant for more than 10 years. Rosa enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, and needlepoint. Survivors include her son, Peter (Diane) Lopata of Nashville, Tenn; grandsons, Raymond McCune, Ryan McCune, Jacob (Paige) Lopata, Bryan (Melanie) Lopata, Shawn Lopata, and Nicholas Lopata; many great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; husband; son, John Lopata; daughter, Anita Lopata-McCune; granddaughter, Dana Lopata; and son-in-law, Thomas McCune.
Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
