Roger Ashbaugh

Roger D. Ashbaugh, 80, of Machesney Park passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, in River Bluff Nursing Home.  Born May 14, 1940, in Rockford, the son of James D. and Florence O. (Berglund) Ashbaugh.  Veteran of the Vietnam conflict, serving in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.  Married Kathleen Sue Grabow on June 25, 1983, in Rockford.  Formerly employed by Reed-Chatwood, Ingersoll and retired from Barber-Colman after 28 years.  Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Winnebago Rifle Club, Beloit Rifle Club, Rockford Sportsman Club, Masonic Lodge #102, and the Freeport Consistory.  Roger was involved in the Illinois Hunter Safety Program.  He enjoyed his vacations and fishing in Minnesota with his wife.  Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; sister-in-law, JoNita Grabow; nephews, Howard Grabow, Al Grabow and Tony Grabow; great-nephew, Christian M. Grabow; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Predeceased by his parents.

Graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021, in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street, Rockford.  Walk through visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.  Social distancing and face coverings required.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
