Robert E. “Bob” Wagner, 66, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Born September 9, 1958, in Sigourney, IA, the son of Harold E. and Donna (Reilly) Wagner. Formerly employed by St. Bernadette Catholic School and most recently by Rockford School District at Conklin Elementary as a teacher, where he was highly regarded and respected by his students. Member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed fishing, reading, barbequing, spending time with family, and loved being a grandpa. Avid Chicago Bear and Cubs fan. Robert was an organ donor. Survivors include his daughter, Krystle Wagner; son, Patrick (Chloe) Wagner; honorary daughter, Ashley Corbett; grandchildren, James English, Sophia Wagner, and Rhett Wagner; mother, Donna Wagner; sisters, Judy (Darryl) Lindberg, Joan (Chuck) Malone, Jane (Phil) Mordick, and Jeanna (Albert) Salas; former wife, Jill Priola, who encouraged Bob to become a teacher; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father; and beloved dog, Buddy.
A memorial visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Cremation rites accorded.
