Robert “Bob” E. Stowers, II

Robert “Bob” E. Stowers, II, 73, of Gig Harbor, WA, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital. Born January 31, 1950, in Beloit, WI, the son of Robert E. and Evangeline Marie (Grannemann) Stowers, I. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1968. He married Margaret “Peggy” M. O’Neill on August 7, 1971, in Rockford, IL. Employed by GKN Rockford for 49 years, retiring in 2019. After retirement Bob and Peggy moved to Washington State. Member of Riverside Community Church. He coached at Harlem Community Center and also was a fastpitch softball and basketball coach. Avid Chicago Cub and Bears fan. Bob enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and was a “jack of all trades”. He loved spending time with family. Survivors include his wife, Peggy; son, Robert Stowers, III, of Chatsworth, IL; daughter, Tonya (Jocelyn) Pearce of Gig Harbor, WA; grandchildren, Zachary (Jana Mueller) Stowers, Jacob Stowers, Re-A Cole, and My-Von Edwards; sisters, Barb (Larry) Willkomm, and Brenda (Ron) Peterson; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; and beloved fur babies, Sadie, and Harley.

Service at 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from noon to service time. Burial in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
