Robert Nicholas, Sr.

Robert L. Nicholas, Sr., loving husband, father, and grandfather, 64, of Roscoe passed away Friday, December 8, 2017. Born June 18, 1953, in Richwood, WV, the son of Lloyd and Cora Lee (Hawkins) Nicholas.  Married Terri Buntjer in 1974.  Rob loved his family, and was a model father and husband for more than 40 years.  He loved his wife dearly, was always proud of his three sons, and enjoyed spending time playing and smiling with his grandson, Harry.  He enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities with his three boys. Rob was an avid viewer of western television shows and movies, spent time finding deals at garage sales with his wife, and caring for his many dogs.  Formerly employed as a machinist by Hydro-Line Manufacturing for 29 years, until its closing.  Rob spent the last 14 years of his career with RLA.  He was a dedicated employee, and modeled hard work for everyone he met.  Survivors include his beloved wife, Terri; sons, Robert Nicholas, Jr., James (Shannon) Nicholas and Michael Nicholas; grandson, Harrison Robert Nicholas; brothers, Jim (Sue) and Ronald (Dora) Nicholas; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents and sister, Joyce Naylor.  Special thanks to brothers-in-law, John and Tom “Rusty” Buntjer; brother, Jim Nicholas, for their love and support; OSF Cancer Center Doctors and Staff; and Davita Dialysis Center.
