Robert Genz, Jr.

Robert C. Genz, Jr., 71, of Rockford passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, in Carriage Rehab & Healthcare.  Born January 29, 1950, in Rockford, the son of Robert C. and Eva F. (Blose) Genz, Sr.  Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1969 to 1973 in the Vietnam Conflict.  Employed as a truck driver by Mobil and most recently by MBI.  Previously employed by National Lock.  Robert enjoyed fishing and boating.  He was also an avid dog lover and Bears fan.  Survivors include his son, Shawn Genz; grandsons, Donovan Genz and Gabriel Genz-Holden; sister, Angela (Daniel) Seymour.  Predeceased by his parents; and daughter, Melissa J. Genz.

Cremation rites accorded.  Graveside inurnment service will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
