Robert Erb

Robert L. Erb, 83, of Machesney Park passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, in his home. Born June 23, 1935, in Freeport, the son of Clarence E. and Cleone (Afflerbaugh) Erb. Veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. Married Donna Caryl on April 20, 1957, in Rockford. Employed by Rockford Products for 35 years, retiring in 1997. Member of Riverside Community Church and Blackhawk Field Archers. Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughters, Vicki (Billy) Sheppard and Kim (Scott) Jeffreys; grandchildren, Tamara (Tom) Sims, David (Jennifer) Pearce, Shawn Abegglen and Samantha (Tony) Jeffreys-Godek; great-grandchildren, Haley Miles, Emily Miles and Lauren Sims; sisters, Jackie Montana and Geraldine. Predeceased by his parents; and daughters, Dawn Spillare and Tamara Erb.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, in Riverside Community Church, 6816 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
