Robert "Bob" Johnson

November 2, 1932 — September 12, 2017

Robert “Bob” J. Johnson, 84, of Machesney Park was called home Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Born November 2, 1932, in Blanchardville, WI, the son of Ernest and Viola E. (Hanson) Johnson.  Veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force.  Married Linda L. Lewis.  Formerly employed by Four Roses Distillery.  Employed by Menasha Corporation for over 20 years, retiring in 1995.  Member of the Rockford Moose Club and the Rockton American Legion.  Life member of the Loves Park VFW.  Bob was an avid fisherman and loved hunting.  He was a summer/fall game warden in Alaska.  Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Handt; grandchildren, Jeremy Handt and Kelsie (Cody) Culver; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Ashton and Casen; loving companion, Pauline Anderson; brothers, Richard (Pat) Johnson and Kenny (Noreen) Johnson; sister, Joyce Alderman; numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his wife; son-in-law, Ronald Handt; and sisters, Betty and Ruth Klassy.  The family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff at UW Madison VA Hospital for their loving care.  Also, special thanks to Pauline for her endless support and care.

Memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 17, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from noon to service time. Inurnment in Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.
