Robert L. “Bob” Bergeron, 68, of Machesney Park, IL, went home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born May 28, 1954, in Rockford, IL, the son of Robert L. and Darlene F. (Hocking) Bergeron. Married Kathleen “Kathy” Meyers on June 20, 1981, in Machesney Park. Employed by Rockford Manufacturing Group for 36 years. Member of Grace Lutheran Church. Bob loved his children and grandchildren. Avid Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and NASCAR Fan. Bob’s favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, number 3. Special thanks to granddaughter, Saylor, who brought papa a lot of happiness while he was fighting cancer. Survivors include his wife, Kathy; children, Jenny (Nate Brick) Bergeron, and Bobby (Catie Hill) Bergeron; grandchildren, Saylor, Sunday, and Robbie; siblings, Nancy (Rick) Saunders, Dennis Bergeron, David (Jina) Bergeron, Gary (Karlene) Bergeron, Greg (Lisa) Bergeron, Sharon (Tim) Grosch, Jeff Bergeron, Mike Bergeron, John (Deann) Bergeron, and Tim (Michelle) Bergeron; brothers-in-law, Fred (Patti) Meyers, and Ray (Judy) Meyers; sisters-in-law, Karen Meyers, Judy Petit, and Debbie Meyers; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews, best friend, Don (Anita Schmall) Ganrude. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Bruce and Kevin; brothers-in-laws, Ronnie Meyers, Louie Meyers, and Jim Meyers; and in-laws, LaVerne and Romona Meyers. A special thank you to Bob's employment RMG for all the love and support after he retired.

Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 343 Grand Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. in the church. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name.
