Robert E. Baxter, 79, of Winnebago passed away Friday, January 15, 2016, in his home. Born August 3, 1936, in De Witt, AR., the son of Roy E. and Lois (Ward) Baxter. Retired from Valley Drive Systems. Bob was instrumental in planning and developing the Ski Broncs Water Ski Show Team and site at Shorewood Park. He spent countless hours pulling the skiers in the 35 plus years he was a member. Survivors include wife, Connie; sons, Wade E. and Ward E. (Jackie) Baxter; daughter, Wanda (Alan) Cwiklo; sister, Lona Reynolds; brother, Glen (Judy) Baxter; grandchildren, Jerel (Shelley Wagner) Folts, Zared Folts, Zachary (Tiffani) Blackwell, Tyler and Cameron Baxter, Molly and Madeline Cwiklo, and Garrett Baxter; great- grandchildren, Brennan Folts and Declan Blackwell; special K-9 companion, Baxter. Predeceased by parents; brother; mother and father-in-law. Special thanks to nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice for their loving care.

Memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016, in GPS Faith Community Church, 10714 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. A memorial will be established.
