Richard W. Schaff, 91, of Rockford, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2018, in his residence. Born July 30, 1926, in Racine, WI, the son of Alexander and Geneva (Haas) Schaff. Married Virginia Beckington. Retired from Roper Whitney. Richard enjoyed Golf, woodworking and the Saturday breakfasts trading stories with his fishing buddies. Survivors include wife, Virginia; daughters, Julia (Austin) Crawford, Margaret (Dr. John) Bednar and Rosemary (Doug) Smith; 11 grandchildren, Melanie (Austin) Billingslea, Hanna and Natalie Crawford, William, Chelsea, Jeanette, Emma, Elise and Spencer Bednar, Ryan and Haley Smith; sister, Lucille Kominis; many nieces and nephews; special pet and pal, Sadie. Predeceased by parents, daughter, Susan Schaff and brother, David Schaff.
