Richard “Dick” D. Hockison, 71, of Muscoda, Wisconsin, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in his home. He was born on July 30, 1948, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Richard and Dorothea (Garner) Hockison. Dick was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life, Charlotte M. Mitchell on June 13, 1970. Dick was self-employed at Reliable Lift Truck for 30 years and retired from Atlas Cold Storage in 2013. Beating the guys at poker during deer camp was always a highlight of the year for Dick. When he was not hunting or fishing, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; daughters, Michelle (Greg) Cassaro and Rebecca (Michael) Miller; daughter-in-law, June Hockison; grandchildren, Rich (Mary), Marc (Jamie), Tabitha (Chuck), John (Tammy), Nicole, Danielle, Kayla, Taylor, Jacob, Mariah, Bailey, Alaina and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Ryan, Riley, Jackson, Griffin, Easton, Genevie, Zackary, Giovanni and Asher; mother, Dorothea Hockison; brother, Danny (Kris) Hockison; sisters-in-law, Lavon (Merle) Reese and Connie (Tom) Miller; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Richard Hockison; son, Tom Hockison; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Archie and Ethel Mitchell; brother-in-law, Chuck Mitchell; and sister-in-law, Eileen Huizenga. A special thanks to his caregivers, especially Jen, Jackie, Patricia and Katrina.
Service at noon Tuesday, November 12, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the ALS Association or VA.
