Richard “Rich” L. Ashton, 80, of loves Park, IL, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Swedish American Health, surrounded by family. Born November 2, 1943, in Rockford, IL, the son of Everett L. and Emily F. (Jans) Ashton. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1961. He married Victoria G. Anderson on May 9, 1964, in Loves Park. Survivors include his wife, Vicki; daughters, Rena (Louis) Ashton-Schlickman and Rinelle (Brent) Culver; grandchildren, Cody (Kelsie) Culver, Casey (Brianna Richards) Culver and Breanna Culver; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Ashton, Casen, and Miller; sister, Jean Boettcher. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Randy Ashton.

Funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Burial at Scandinavian Cemetery immediately following service. F riends and family are invited to a reception following Rich’s burial committal service.
