Regina Ann Peterson

Regina “Tina” Ann Peterson 67, of Machesney Park, IL, passed from her earthly life to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 11, 2023, after a long illness. She was born March 2, 1956, in Rockford, daughter of George and June (Struven) Welch, the third of four children. At the age of 2, Tina accompanied her mother and sisters to Windsor Baptist Church where her mother became a charter member. At the age of 6, Tina accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved her Windsor family and was happy to volunteer any way she could; secretary, Sunday School teacher, Awana program, or working with teenagers and children of all ages. She graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1974. She married Mark Peterson on April 17, 1976, in Loves Park, IL, and they spent 47 years together. God blessed them with their one daughter, Stephanie. Tina was so proud of her daughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Chris, who have a loving family with their four children, her grandchildren. Tina was employed by GC Electronics, Barber Colman Aerospace, and Amcore Bank. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Her hobbies included gardening and China painting and she excelled at both. Tina loved to travel and especially loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Mark; daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Farrell; grandchildren Alexi, Alana, Desi, and Zander; mother, June (Ron) Deets; sisters, Rachel (Paul) Jaspers, and Ruth (Nathan) Brick; mother-in-law, Helen Peterson; sister-in-law, Joan McCarty; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by her father, George Welch; sister, Rebecca Koenig; brother-in-law, Bob Koenig; father-in-law, Grant Peterson; and brother-in-law, Marwin McCarty.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2023, at Windsor Baptist Church, 1115 Windsor Road, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Pastor K.D. Bodwell will officiate. Burial immediately following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
