Ralph “Chuck” Charles Mausehund, 65, of Loves Park, IL, went to be with his heavenly Mother and Father peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at William S. Middleton VA Hospital, Madison, WI. He was surrounded by his wife, Ruth; his only son, Chad; and his three daughters, Jenifer, Katie, and Reba; his grandchildren; and mother-in-law. Ralph saw all his children's first breath at birth, and they saw his last. He was born on October 9, 1959, in Kankakee, IL, the son of Frank D. and Helen L. (Strean) Mausehund, Sr. Veteran of the U.S. Marines. He married Ruth A. Baker on November 27, 1981, in Rockford, IL. Member of North Park Church of Christ, Loves Park Clifford E. Johnson VFW Post 9759, Marine Corp League of Rockford and Rockford American Legion. Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening, camping, and especially spending time with family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Chuck spent his time with his entire family helping all of them any way he could. He enjoyed his many gardens and vacations with his wife to Florida. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; son, Chad Mausehund of Loves Park, IL; daughters, Jenifer (Jeremy) Rigden of Caledonia, IL, Katie (Richard) Jardeen of Bono, AR, and Reba (Dalton) Hare of Freeport, IL; grandchildren, Morgan, Mascyn, Justin, Julian, Bentley, and Carson sister, Beverly (Doug) Frye; brothers, Frank (Diane) Mausehund, Jr., Kenneth Mausehund, and Billy (Sandra) Roof; mother-in-law, Betty Smith; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Sharon King; and fathers-in-law, Merlon Baker and Andrew Smith, Jr. The family wishes to thank the nurses and Dr.’s at the ICU and Hospice Center floors at the William S. Middleton VA Hospital for their care and compassion.
Service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL, 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
