Phyllis J. Chambers, 83, of Loves Park passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Born Friday, June 4, 1937, in Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Asa T. and Rena O. (White) Fisher. Married the love of her life William Chambers on September 26, 1998, in Loves Park. Phyllis retired from Rockford Memorial Hospital in 2000. She loved spending time with her family, including her grand dog, Chief, gardening, watching, and feeding birds. Survivors include her loving husband, William Chambers; daughters, Kim (Chuck) Dorsett of Rockford, and Misty (Bryan) Dublin of Belvidere; sons, Mike (Jayne) Papini of Watersmeet, MI, Ted (Jeannie) Papini of Roscoe, and Tom (Connie) Papini of Machesney Park, grandchildren, Melissa (Patrick) Heisner of Ashton, Christen (Kyle) Schopp of Chana, Holli Jacobson of Loves Park, Heidi Jacobson of Rockford, Alex (Jamie) Papini of Pensacola, FL, Logan (Dominique Dyson) Ausherman of Ferndale, MI, Alexis (Jordan Hillan) Ausherman of Rockford, Adelle Papini of Machesney Park, and Payton Papini of Machesney Park; great-grandchildren, Kvlee Williams, Brendyn Williams, Anna Williams, Karyn Baldwin, Chance Baldwin, Jordan Hillan Jr., and Braylen Smith; sister, Jean Bishop of Rockton; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predecease by her parents; son, Al Papini, III; sisters, Barbra Jean Fisher, and Shirley Lambretch; brothers, Tom Fisher and Don Fisher. The family would like to thank SwedishAmerican Hospital nurses and staff, especially nurse Alyssa Maya for her exceptional care and communication with the family during this difficult time.
Walk through visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 24, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Face coverings and social distancing required. Graveside service at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
