Philip "Phil" Smith

April 9, 1953 — October 2, 2017

Philip "Phil" W. Smith, 64, of Loves Park passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, in his home. Born April 9, 1953, in Rockford, the son of Russell C. and Bernice M. (Wolf) Smith.  Formerly employed by Schnucks, Highlander and A&P.  Currently employed by Meijer.  Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.  He enjoyed outdoor adventures, neighborhood golf, shooting and was an avid animal lover and Packer fan.  Survivors include his brothers, Greg (Debbie) Smith and Dan (Denise) Smith; sister, Wilma (John) Reid; nieces and nephews, Donna Smith, Nicole (Matt) Schlenz, Ashley Smith, Chloe Jansen, Alex Jansen, Michael (Kassi) Reid, Kristin (Antonio) Fiasche and Tom Reid; great-nieces and -nephews, Mario and Aurelia Fiasche, Norah and Miles Schlenz; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Predeceased by his parents.  Thank you to OSF St. Anthony fourth floor, OSF Hospice and Dr. Shaukat.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 9, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 8, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
