Patricia Lou Nichols, 84, of Rockford passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in her home. Born March 14, 1936, in Rockford, the daughter of Albert and Genevieve (Pittinger) McNames. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1954. Formerly employed at Barber-Colman, bartended at the Old Still Bar, lunch-aide at Whig Hill School, bus driver for Rockford Public School District, and retired from Walmart. She enjoyed trips to the casino. Avid Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include her son, Patrick (Dawn) Nichols of Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Crystal Nichols; grandchildren, Cindy Nichols, Casey (Jeremy) Defendi, Troy (Breanna) Nichols, Ashley Nichols, and Christopher (Kristin) Nichols; great-grandchildren, Catalina (Pablo) Baez, Dylan Defendi, Destiny Nichols, Jayden Nichols, Autumn Nichols, Jeremy Nichols, Olivia Nichols and Natalie Nichols; great-great-grandchildren, Elena Baez and Julian Baez; sister, Carolyn (Howard) Knodle of Rockford; sister-in-law, Joann McNames of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews; and loving companion, Midnight. Predeceased by her parents; son, Michael Nichols; great-granddaughters, Alyssa Defendi and Hailey Nichols; and brother, Lloyd McNames.
