Patricia “Trish” J. McGuigan, 86, of Sun Prairie, WI, died Sunday, March 13, 2022. Born July 2, 1935, in Cicero, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Janet (Huptych) Dloughy. Although Trish's biological family was small (only child), her circle of friends and “adopted family” was large. She was preceded in death by her parents and Danny Brown. She is survived by her best friend of 74 years, Joan Brown and her family. Trish referred to Joan's children and grandchildren as “my kids”; to them she was always “Auntie Pat”. Her “kids” that survive her are, Larry (Nancie) Brown, Kathy Brown Parks, and Thomas (Danae) Brown; “grandkids”, John (Kelsey) Brown, Colleen Brown, Katie Rose (Drew) Pardee, Carol Parks, Jerry (Jazell) Parks, Victoria (Tyler) Kurtz, Brian Parks, Rachael (Nick) Homerding, Jeremy Brown, Tyler (Millie) Brown, and Kaitlyn Brown; and several “great-grandkids.”
Trish was a talented actress, singer, dancer, and model. Starting in Abbott Junior High through college she had starring roles in many plays. At Elgin High School she earned two first place awards in Illinois State speech tournaments. While still in high school, she had her own children's radio show on WRMN in Elgin. In her 20’s she did modeling for many national brands including, Superior Coffee and Beautyrest Mattresses. She then went on to appear on a daily national television show that was broadcast out of Chicago. Trish continued her career in California and Florida. She was the main performer on many Holland Cruises and traveled extensively.
Later in life she was the sole caretaker for her mother and then her father until their deaths. She also returned to school and got her certification in nutrition. Trish worked for the Playhaven Childcare Centers as “Miss Trish, the Nutritionist.” She used many puppets and voices to teach kids about nutrition, hygiene, and respect for others.
With all her worldly success, she was happiest when she was talking about the love she had for our Lord. She led several people to deeper faith and was a faithful prayer warrior. Her love radiated to all she knew. She will be greatly missed.
